Do You Think An Office is Optional? I Do! (Video)
Posted by Cheryl Contee on June 23, 2014
Recently I spoke at an Office Optional conference from the Lean Start Up about the many tools that we at Fission Strategy use as a virtual company and the values that drive their use. In this video of my talk, learn how the spirit of our virtual company connects us across cities and with clients around the world:
I'd like to share some of the key points I make:
Success through collaboration
We bring out the best in each person and each team. We focus on joining forces to solve problems, believing that what unites us is far larger, stronger and more powerful than that which divides us.
Beauty and excellence (a concept from Aristotle)
We value beauty and excellence in how we work and the results we produce. How we do our work matters just as much as the outcomes.
Learning and sharing
Through constantly learning and sharing knowledge, we can find the smartest solutions together. We hold a commitment to learn and share with each other, with our clients, and with our community.
Teaching and empowering
We believe in the ability of each person to create positive outcomes. We encourage each other and our clients to lead the social change they seek.
Resourceful creativity
A smart David can always defeat a mighty Goliath if we inspire each other to discover innovative and experimental new approaches to our most difficult challenges.
Fun and inspiration
We bring together the best talent from anywhere in the world to ignite social action for good, and inspire people to participate in smart, light, and fun ways.
Office Optional provides tools and tactics for distributed teams — take a look!
And finally, I’d just like to say our team is amazing! I’m grateful every day to work with these talented folks from our distributed offices. We are building the future of 21st century workplaces, wherever we may be. I know that through Lean Startup and Office Optional methodologies, we can all help each other build the kind of dreams that will make a difference in the world.
